History
As part of a grassroots, parent-led effort to provide an alternative to traditional public school while still remaining under the umbrella of the school district, parents and school district administrators collaborated to create an alternative educational option for students in grades K-5. The program was designed to compete with other options in the Rogue Valley that offered project-based, environmentally-focused education. The ODP first opened its doors to students during the 2009-2010 school year.
