ODP Placement
In order to thrive in the unique educational environment that ODP provides, it is important that students have, or can develop, most of the following characteristics:

Regular attendance, including field trips and project nights.

Are willing and able to work with and help younger students.

Are willing and able to participate in group work.

Are able to maintain safe behavior on a field trip.

Are able to follow directions from new adults (guest speakers, field trip leaders, ODP parents, practicum teachers).

Are coachable: able and willing to accept instruction and learn independent skills, group skills, and mentoring skills.

Are curious and excited about engaging with the outdoors.

Are willing to work with a variety of people and in a variety of settings.

Demonstrate flexibility and (age-appropriate) independence.
